A Basketball Clinic With My Basketball Hero

I want my First Blog to be exceptional, at first, I thought what topic should fit for my First Blog, and here it is, a very special experience / opportunity that I would love to share with you.

Maybe you are wondering who " My Basketball Hero" is? Here are some information about him:

[ uhm.. sorry about that "My Basketball Hero", if you are reading this! I had read in your July 14, 2008 blog entry - ADMU VS UE (Round 1), about some fan greeting you on ur birthday & writing ur Age in the Tarpaulin that she had made, and u said: "Tnx for the greeting although u didn't have to put my age there :)" hahah! Peace! =) ]

It was June 15, 2009 when an unidentified number called me, at first I thought it was just a Prank Call, so I didn't answered it immedietly. Then the owner of the unidentified number told me that I had won in a certain promo & I will have a chance to meet "My Basketball Hero", of course, i hadn't believed it, until later that night, I had received a text message from 2364 reminding me about the promo, then I was like.. WOW! and I was distracted & can not concentrate on what I was doing that time. :)

Then on June 16,2009 , a number that 2346 had sent through their text message was calling me, confiming me my attendance of the said event , of course , I had said Yes immedietly! Why do I have to say No when I'll be able to meet "My Basketball Hero"? =D I had cancelled all my activities/appointments for June 17, 2009 just to be able to meet "My BBall Hero"!

Then came the day that i had been waiting for. Actually, I really don't know the way to our meeting place, but for the sake of meeting "My BBall Hero" I took the risk of being lost on the way.. hahah! Thats how I love "My BBall Hero" ( Of Course! As a Fan!). I really dote upon him, he was such a beautiful (or Handsome?? hahah! ) person inside-out, an excellent student, an unsurpassed athlete, an outstanding artist/host, and especially for being God's Humble Servant (from Candy Mag.. He write it upon the question: What would u like people to remember u as? Its something like that..). I had arrived at our meeting place at the exact time (11am). There I had met the other winners of the said promo, we were like 6 people who originally won the promo & the other 4 were the companions of the (2) winners. We had waited up to 12:45pm, until 1 of the winners had decided to go, now we were only 9 people left waiting (including the 4 companions). =( It was about 1pm when the owner of the number calling us in the past few days had attended us. We were now going to the Basketball Court in Makati, its The Zone. We had travelled for about an hour, then we waited for "My Basketball Hero" to arrive, and for the court to be free. We were given MILO shirts that should be wear during the BBall Clinic. After I had changed, when I was outside the Comfort Room's door, I saw "My BBall Hero" just arriving. Then I was like, WHOA! And suddenly, butterflies had appeared in my stomach! At first I was very shy and was afraid to talk to him! Then "My Basketball Hero" came near to our place and said HI! to us! He was so friendly, indeed a very nice person. It was 3pm when we had started our training, first "My BBall Hero" & us do some introduction, then after that we had practiced some basics in Basketball, like, the accurate way to hold a ball, dribbling, passing (chest, bounce, overhead) & shooting. During our break, we were given our favorite drink that keeps us energized, thanks MILO! We had games/competitions during the BBall Clinic, there were 2 teams - (1st) The Pants Team [in which I was a team mem] =) and (2nd) The Shorts Team. The first game - Racing while Dribbling the Ball.. and guess who won? Its The Pants Team.. :D The second game - the first team to shoot up to 10 points.. and the point goes to... The Pants Team, 2 points for us. And the last game - it was a real Basketball game, first to make 5 points! I thought we couldn't have win the last game.. but tnx for our teamwork, we had won again!! And the prizes were.. his Ateneo Shirts, his BBall Jersey, his shorts ( am I right? not sure.. ) and the one that I had won, his 2008 UAAP Championship Cap (which is now my Lucky Cap) w/ his Autograph there. =] Sadly, "My BBall Hero" had to go & it was also our time to go home.

During the Basketball Clinic w/ him, I realised that I was at ease/comfortable to be w/ him, he was not a professional athlete nor an artist that time, for me he was an Ahya to me, an ordinary person that I can ask anything I want. But then when it was time for him to go ( BOOM! ) I had remembered he was a professional athlete/artist. I hope we can do that again ( The Basketball Clinic ) , want to spend time with him more as an Ahya, not an artist.

Maybe now u all know who I am talking about.. "My Basketball Hero", Christopher John Alandy-Dy Tiu. I really love "My BBall Hero".. ^_^ Here's the other info about him..
